What is PTA Art Reflections?

Created in 1969 by a CO PTA President, the Reflections program is a way for students to have a creative outlet expressing themselves. With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.

Who can participate in Art Reflections?

Any student (K-12) who attends a school with a PTA!! That of course includes Beck Elementary! NOTE: a student must have at least ONE person from their primary household registered with Beck PTA by 10/21/24.  Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Accessible Arts division or grade division most closely aligned to their support needs.

What is the theme for ART Reflections?

Accepting Imperfection. This can mean something unique to each student!!  Paige Opaska, the student who created this year's theme of "Accepting Imperfection" had this to say about the theme: 

“I feel like Accepting Imperfection is especially relevant today with what we are exposed to through technology. I think we all need to take a step back and remember that imperfection is beautiful. (This theme is) a reminder to myself that mistakes are welcome because they are a part of being human. Our flaws are as much a part of us as our strengths, so being imperfect should be perfect enough for us.”

What can you submit?

Dance choreography, Film production, Literature, Music composition, Photography or Visual arts (students may enter in one OR more category AND can have multiple entries in a category)

When must you submit your entry?

Entries are due at Beck Elementary by Monday, October 21st, 2024 to the student's Homeroom Teacher (this varies depending on school)

When will I hear if I won?

Each entry will be judged at the local level in November and winners will be notified after that time. Winning entries will be advanced to district and winners will be contacted
